The Pitt Locations
For the last two seasons, I’ve been enjoying the new HBO series, The Pitt, which is based in my hometown of Pittsburgh. While other shows, like Queer As Folk take place in Pittsburgh, the Wikipedia page describes how there are a large amount of liberties taken in how it is portrayed, such as not shooting anything on Liberty Ave. I have personally enjoyed that The Pitt has tried to do a reasonable job with using Pittsburgh as the location of the series, not just as a name.
For the second season, user nuzzot on reddit has made a great series of posts going into the references of Pittsburgh in the show. I won’t be going into these aspects, but rather the actual visuals used of Pittsburgh in the show. My goal for the deep dives is to highlight some of the locations I grew up near, but also to show how much information you can gather from online and how Hollywood can make us see things that may not really be there.
